Airbrush Tanning

You don’t have to start “working on your tan” months in advance. A sunless airbrush tan can be a spontaneous decision, like trying a new nail polish.

What is Airbrush Tanning?
Airbrush Tanning gives you a natural-looking tan without the risks of damaging U.V. rays and over-exposure to the sun.  A micro-fine mist is hand sprayed onto your body by an Airbrush Tanning Technician using our unique tanning formula, leaving none of the streaky lines or blotches associated with other tanning techniques (mystic tan).  Our product contains an FDA-approved cosmetic ingredient called Dihydroxyacetone (or DHA). DHA works by reacting with the keratin protein in the top (or “dead”) layer of your skin. The DHA in our sunless solution is derived from a vegetable source (such as sugar beets and/or sugar cane). The DHA is airbrushed onto your skin and reacts with the proteins to create a tan that begins to appear within a few hours and is complete after about eight hours.  The solution contains a Walnut and Caramel extract combination that provides an immediate natural bronze tan. The instant coloring agent washes off with a shower, leaving a beautiful bronzed look in just minutes.

Why should I change to sunless, Airbrush tanning?
Although sunning and lying in a tanning bed can be relaxing, they cause irreparable damage to the skin. It is proven that tanning in the sun or in tanning beds can lead to premature aging (wrinkles & leathery looking skin) and cause skin cancer. The most dangerous type of skin cancer, melanoma, is more common in women than in men and can strike at any age. You may think you look good now, but…a traditional tan is not a sign of health, it is a sign that the skin has been damaged by ultraviolet radiation. When the sun damages cells, melanin rushes to the surface to provide protection against the next onslaught. As you slowly build up a ‘protective’ tan, your skin is darkening in response to damage on top of damage. Using our Body Bronzing system will give you the benefits of a sage, healthy tan that is convenient, affordable, and fits your lifestyle.

For more information about the benefits of sunless Airbrush tanning, go to the Mayo Clinic website.

Note: Airbrush tanning is NOT recommended for pregnant women or nursing mothers.

How long does an Airbrush tan last?
The darker you tan naturally, the darker you will tan with the sunless tanning system. To get a good initial base tan, we recommend two consecutive sessions, 24 hours apart (see next day tanning service below). Your tan can last from 5 days to two weeks, depending upon how you care for your skin. If you moisturize & take care of your skin, your tan will last longer. If you take long hot baths or showers, wear clothes that chafe, or do anything to encourage the skin to shed, your tan will not last as long.  We recommend avoiding exfoliating, taking long hot baths or showers or doing anything that will encourage the skin to flake. You can extend the life of your tan by nearly double simply by using a quality moisturizer at least once daily.

How should I prep for the tanning session?
For the maximum result:

  • Shower or bathe and EXFOLIATE before your session, e.g., dry brush, loofa, or body gel (with no oil). Or treat yourself to our luxurious exfoliation body rub and shower just prior to your tanning session.

  • MAKE SURE your skin is free of perfumes, lotions, oils, deodorants or any product on the skin that would create a barrier. Your skin MUST be completely clean & dry.

  • Shaving should also be done prior to tanning (not after).

  • Remove all jewelry.

Following the Tanning Session:

  •  Wear loose fitting clothing & shoes.

  •  Limit physical activity for several hours (perspiration may adversely affect the results of the tan).

  •  Make sure you wait at least 8-12 hours before showering, bathing or sweating. We recommend showering the next day to have the greatest results.

  • DHA reacts with wool, nylon & silk, therefore you should NOT wear these fabrics during or after the tanning session.

  •  Moisturize the following day & then frequently to prolong your tan.

What do I wear to my tanning session?
If you are a woman, you may wear lingerie, a bathing suit, or opt for no tan lines at all; we are professionals.

If you are a man, please understand that although we are professionals, we require that men wear something, at least cotton briefs or boxers.

How long will the tanning session take?
It only takes about 15-20 minutes to airbrush your entire body, and then we will dry you off using our warm air fan for an additional 10 minutes. The entire process should take only about 30 minutes max.

Next Day Tanning
When you really want to get that deep dark tan we recommend coming the next day for an additional tan. We recommend not waiting any longer than 24hrs after your first tanning session and yes, you do need to do the initial tanning with us.
